Devotional
I remember writing this song. I was in the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit. I love when that happens. When I sang these verses, I felt the Spirit move and dance around me.
The same thing happened again when I played it to my wife; we were both in tears by so much presence of the Spirit. And it got me wondering...
Did you know, that Paul spent more than 3 years in the Arabian desert after his encounter with Jesus? (Gal 1: 11-20)
Three years of reflecting, being alone with God. Metanoia. It's a Greek word and means ”to change your mind, to change direction”. It's the original word for ”repent”.
But it's a process. ”Put on your new nature” (Eph 4: 24). A process which should be led by the Holy Spirit, not by sheer willpower.
That's why it says in Eph 4:23 and Eph 5:18, ”let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes” and, “be filled with the Holy Spirit”.
My prayer for you is that we become so saturated with the Holy Spirit, that our fruits will become so obvious and delicious, that instead of randomly shouting ”repent” to people on social media, people will come to us and ask us: "I want what you have, tell me, what do I have to do?" 🔥
