Forgiveness: Looking at Your Neighbor From the Love of GodSample
US! The Forgiveness that Sets Us Free
When gazes and stories intersect, forgiveness, reconciliation, and, above all, liberation arrive: the freedom to release pain, anger, and sadness to attain peace in the heart. However, this is not always easy. Some issues, more 'superficial,' are resolved with a conversation or an apology. But what do we do when someone has inflicted deep wounds upon us, intentional or not, that seems to surpass our capacity to endure?
Thinking of historical figures who have inflicted great harm upon humanity raises the question: Is it easy to forgive them? How does God view those who, feeling genuine remorse, seek His forgiveness?
Would we be capable of embracing them? Can we engage in the mental exercise of embracing our 'enemies,' or rather those siblings whose actions have harmed us? Let us remember that God forgave Moses after he killed a man, and yet Moses was chosen to lead his people to the promised land. God offers us a deeper gaze towards others. 'To see the other through the eyes of God. For from heaven, the sun and rain are for all of His creation.'
This is the daily exercise: to see the good in the other, to know their story, to connect with it, even if it differs from ours, and to understand and comprehend their actions and words.
We invite you to think about the people who have caused you pain, who have made you cry, suffer, or become angry. We encourage you to look at them with love, embrace them, forgive them, and, above all, see the good in them. And to continue working every day on the gift of forgiveness!

About this Plan
How easy is seeing the good in another, especially when anger clouds our judgment? Stopping and exercising empathy to understand someone else's story is an act of will. It is recognizing that God loves us all equally and that his love is not exclusive to a few.
