The Life of DavidSample
Day 21: 2 Sam. 12-13 x Hanna Sheets, Levite at UPPERROOM
2 Samuel 12 shows us our very faithful God, otherwise known as: The Great Confronter! The Judge! The King of Kings!
His promises to David stood firm through every wrestle of the heart. Can you imagine what David may have feared when he realized his sin was found out? “Are murder and adultery enough to cause God to pull His favor away from me? Is this maybe the last straw of God’s patience? And rightfully so!”
But no! Our God is ever-faithful and ever-enduring! He did not leave David to be alone in his sin, and was faithful even to give him another son.
The language that can be used to paint God’s faithfulness toward mankind simply does not exist on earth. What kind of God is He that He both disciplines and blesses in the same breath? Our faithful God! Our God whose discipline is love for His sons and daughters.
Prayer: Thank You Lord that You are so faithful. You prove time and time again in our lives and in Scripture that You are ever-present and ever-able to lead us with a strong love. Help us to not despise Your discipline, because we know that You discipline those You love! You are the great Confronter and the great Comforter, and we are thankful!

About this Plan
“The Life of David” is an in-depth study through 1-2 Samuel. Together, we will look at how David stewarded his heart through the complexities and challenges he faced. This month-long study will bring biblical context to why we do what we do as a community: ministering to the Lord and establishing a resting place for Him.
