What the Bible Says About...Sample
A Different Image
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground … A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.
Whoever sheds human blood, by human beings shall their blood be shed for in the image of God has God made humankind.
This only have I found: God created humankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes.
Fear not; for I am with thee … every one that is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yea, whom I have made.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.
