Prayer – 8

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD. … When hard pressed I cried to the LORD, he brought me into a spacious place. … In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry. … When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, LORD, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. … You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” O Lord, you took up my case; you redeemed my life.

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.
