What the Bible Says About...Sample
Bad Desires -1
You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor’s house or land, his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.
See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright…
Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
