Kingdom Leadership

DAY 5 OF 7

Principle #5 "Servant first then leadership. Every good leader learned to serve first."

If your goal as a leader is to be served by others, you’ve mistaken the role of a leader. A leader serves as the guiding force of the company/team. To guide anyone, you must first realize that you are a servant. On day one, we spoke about working as unto the Lord. Knowing that when we work as unto the Lord, He is the CEO and the real leader behind the business. You are serving Him every day that you show up to fulfill the purpose He has called you to.

Servant-leadership is putting serving behind all that you do, which leads to leading well. When you have a servant-leadership mindset, you know that the better you serve the team, the better your team performs. Your company/team is a reflection of your leadership, which starts with how you serve. By focusing on serving well, you will create a collaborative atmosphere, fostering a community of shared success.

Philippians 2 commissions us to “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

David was a mighty leader, but it came after years of learning to serve first. His servanthood prepared him to lead victoriously.

Every kingdom leader must serve first, then lead.
