Altars: An Invitation to Meet With GodSample

Altars: An Invitation to Meet With God

DAY 4 OF 10

Lay the Foundation

Read the Scripture passage slowly and reverently. Listen for the word or phrase the Holy Spirit highlights for you.

  • “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me." - John 15:1-15-4

Sit quietly with the Lord, allowing His truth and His presence to minister to you.

Listen to the song and consider how it carries the message of John 15:1-15:4

Invitation to Worship

Read the lyrics, slowly and with intention. Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight a word or phrase for your consideration.

Using the lyrics as inspiration, tell God what’s on your mind.

Listen to the song and sing along, offering your simple, authentic worship to God.

Altar Moment

Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight one or two of the following Invitations for your focus.

Invitations from God:

  • Lean into your relationship of dependency with Jesus (vine and branches) John - 15:1-4
  • Declare Jesus your portion Psalm - 16:5
  • Claim Jesus your prize - Philippians 3:7-8
  • Abide with Jesus John - 15:5-8
  • Choose to believe beyond what you see - 1 Corinthians 13:12
  • Submit to pruning John - 15:5-8
  • Trust Jesus with your life and plans - Ephesians 3:16-19
  • Acknowledge faith in Jesus - Ephesians 3:16-19
  • Praise Jesus Revelation - 4:11

Respond to God’s invitation to stretch and grow in faith by asking Him for His help.

Knowing God is with you, listen to the song and worship, once more.
