Easter - Where It Happened

DAY 6 OF 15

You have a name. You learnt what it was when you were very young; in fact, you learnt your name before you could even say it yourself! Did you know you also have a few other names too? To your parents, you are a son or daughter; to your siblings, you are a brother or sister; you likely have a nickname your friends use; and to your teacher, you are called their student. You’re the same person, but these different names describe your relationship with different people. If you have a dog, you could be known as “The one who gives me food under the table”!

Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say I am?” They came up with a few different answers to that question, but only Peter came up with an answer that was correct. Jesus is our Messiah, our Saviour.

If He is our Saviour, what do we need saving from? We need saving from sin. We have all made mistakes or done the wrong thing, such as being jealous, getting angry, or telling a little white lie; it's all sin. Even Peter sinned. He told Jesus, “I’ll stay with you; I’ll never turn my back on you,” and later that night did the very thing he said he’d never do! The good news is that we can be forgiven. That is why Jesus went to the cross: to save us.

Who is Jesus to you? What name or word would you use to describe your relationship with Jesus? Jesus could be your friend, number one in your life, comforter. At Easter, we remember that Jesus is our Messiah. Jesus is our Saviour.

About this Plan

Easter - Where It Happened

The Bible is not a book of made-up stories; it’s about real people and real places, places we can still see today. As we journey through the places where Easter happened, we remember why Easter happened. We remember that Jesus is our Lord, Saviour, and Risen King.
