Waha Disciple Making Challenge

DAY 7 OF 7

How finishing this challenge could be the start of God using you to reach your entire community, even if you didn’t do everything perfectly!

Congratulations! You made it to the final day of the Waha Disciple Making Challenge. What has God done? Did any of your conversations become more meaningful or even spiritual? What did you learn? Did you have a revelation that YOU can make disciples, even if you don’t have a bunch of training or resources? How do you feel? Is there a sense of greater intimacy with God, as you’ve been faithful in engaging in His mission with Him?

What if we told you that this is just the beginning? What if the end of this challenge could be the beginning of an even bigger adventure?

In today’s devotional, we are going to read Habakkuk 1:1-5 and 2:14

The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw.

Habakkuk's Complaint

O Lord, how long shall I cry for help,
and you will not hear?
Or cry to you “Violence!”
and you will not save?
Why do you make me see iniquity,
and why do you idly look at wrong?
Destruction and violence are before me;
strife and contention arise.
So the law is paralyzed,
and justice never goes forth.
For the wicked surround the righteous;
so justice goes forth perverted.

The Lord's Answer

“Look among the nations, and see;
wonder and be astounded.
For I am doing a work in your days
that you would not believe if told.

Habakkuk 1:1-5

Now skip ahead to Habakkuk 2:14:

For the earth will be filled
with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

Habakkuk 2:14

Take a moment to consider these questions:

  • What are the things Habakkuk is complaining about in this passage?
  • Put yourself in Habakkuk’s shoes and think about your community. What would you complain about to God if you were him? (make a list!)
  • What is God’s answer, both to Habakkuk and to YOU, about how He is going to address your complaints?

Take the next step in walking in your calling as a disciple-maker

Watch this short trailer about the Waha Disciple Making Course, as we would like to invite you and a group of like-minded friends to do it together!

How to Start a Movement

By now, you’ve started praying for and talking to people who don’t know Jesus yet. You’ve also identified a group or groups of other believers who could make disciples with you.

You might wonder what to do with these believers after you bring them together.

We created the Waha Disciple-Making Course for groups like yours. The Waha Disciple Making Course is available for free in the Waha Discovery Bible Study App or on the Waha website. It has been designed to make it easy for anyone to learn how to launch a movement of disciples making disciples. If you can gather a group of people around a laptop, phone, or TV and push play, then you can facilitate the Disciple Making Course!

In this course, your group will learn how to:

  • Help unbelieving seekers start a journey to discover God with Discovery Bible Studies.
  • Help the people you’ve been engaging in this challenge to fall in love with Jesus and bring Him into their affinity groups.
  • Develop yourself, your friends, and even those you’re reaching out to into leaders who can oversee entire networks of disciple-making communities.

Action Step

Getting started is easy. All you have to do is share the trailer above with the like-minded believers you have prayed for in this challenge and gather them together. Once you’re ready, you can find the Disciple Making Course here. May we hasten the day of our Lord’s coming!

Day 6

About this Plan

Waha Disciple Making Challenge

Making disciples is a familiar yet misunderstood concept. Many feel that they lack the right gifting or personality to do it. However, disciple-making is not simply evangelism or a church program. In the Waha Disciple Making Challenge, we'll hear stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for God’s Kingdom. Through scripture, we will discover what disciple-making means, then end each day with a simple, low-pressure action step.
