DAY 11 OF 21

THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE

Do you know what a cornerstone is? According to Webster’s Dictionary, a cornerstone is the stone that lies at the corner of two walls and unites them; the principal stone. Psalm 118:22 says, "The stone you builders rejected has become the cornerstone." Jesus is our Chief Cornerstone by uniting us to God through salvation. He is our Sacrificial Lamb, Prince of Peace, and Messiah.

God loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross so we can have a relationship with Him, be forgiven, and have eternal life. Philippians 2:6-8 says, “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking every nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death- even death on a cross!

Doesn't that make you want to praise God for what He has done for us? Psalm 118:1 says, "Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever." As we prepare for Easter, consider these two questions and pray this prayer.

  1. How can I make a point to praise God every day?
  2. Am I taking time out of my day to pray and talk with God?

God, please help me praise you and thank you throughout each day for all you have done for me. Thank you for being our Chief Cornerstone. Please help me grow in my relationship with you and pray more. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
