Creating Caring OpportunitiesSample
Paying It Forward
The phrase "paying it forward" is a popular response when you receive a blessing you did not expect. It means that instead of “paying back” a kindness, you “pay it forward” by doing something for another person. Even though the phrase has only recently become popular, the idea has been around for a long time. In fact, it has its foundation in some solid biblical teaching. It is the idea of "bearing one another's burdens." Lynn Cory understands this as he helped to get his neighbors involved in blessing others.

The book of Acts describes the actions of believers in the early days of the church. They were so taken by this idea of sharing, that many sold their possessions for the good of other believers. That was a unique situation that is not the norm for the church today. But it does show what can happen when people's hearts lead them to bless others. Can you recall a time recently when someone blessed you? Did you pass that blessing on to others? Either way, you can start a chain of blessings right now by looking for opportunities to care for people.

About this Plan
Opportunities to care for others are all around us. But often times, seizing these opportunities to care takes intentionality and creativity. Each of these five devotionals contain a short audio message (1-2 minutes). The guests share practical and creative ideas that you can immediately use. By the end of the five days, your thinking on how to care for others will be expanded.
