God is Faithful

One of the things I treasure most in my journey with God is discovering deepening levels of trust towards Him in my own heart. If you ask me how they got there I would not be able to tell you, I just know that the longer I walk in relationship with Him, the more I trust in Him. This discovery has led me to realise that if there’s an area in my life I’m struggling to trust God in, it’s ok – it starts with a desire to be able to trust Him in that space one day, and that’s enough – the rest will come because God is not going anywhere.

Have you ever thought about how amazing it is that, of all the ways God could have restored us back to Himself, He chose the way of relationship, giving us the freedom to choose Him as He chose us. That is why trust is such a precious thing. It’s developed through relationship and it can’t be fast-tracked or sped up or set to only one person’s demands.

God chooses to walk with us to allow our trust towards His goodness to grow over time and in a way unique to each one of us. He doesn’t just demand our trust but He invites it and continues, time and time again, to show Himself faithful. Yes, as in any relationship, there are misunderstandings and setbacks but ultimately His love towards us draws our hearts to Him and continues to transform us every day.

If trust doesn’t come easily, don’t worry. God is faithful and He will finish what He started in you.
