Sinner To SaintSample
More of God, Less of This World
The transformation of a Christian into the image of Jesus Christ takes a lifetime. Sometimes, it feels like a two-steps-forward, one-step-back process, but God has promised to complete that which He starts in those who put their faith in Jesus. Every single one of them will be made whole and perfect in Heaven.
As a Christian learns to let go of the world and their former way of living/thinking and chooses to obey God instead, they experience God’s power working in and through them. Their knowledge of Jesus Christ increases, and their faith is strengthened. Over time, they desire more of God and less of this world.
Although everyone still stuck in their human body sins, Christians do not enjoy it like they used to. When they sin, it grieves the Holy Spirit within them and hurts their heart, taking all the fun out of it. No one with the Holy Spirit living inside of them can rest inside as long as they are living outside of God’s will for their life. Anyone who is able to find contentment outside of God’s will does not belong to God.
- What do your cravings say about your relationship with God?
- Are you allowing God to transform you into the image of Jesus Christ?
Read 1 John 3:5-10, Ephesians 4:30, and Philippians 1:6.
About this Plan
Some people believe that you have to wait until you die to know for sure whether or not you truly belong to God and get to spend eternity in Heaven. Not true! God wants you to live a victorious life for His glory right now, confident not only of where you will spend eternity (1 John 5:13), but also in His love and your identity as His child. Not sure whether or not you belong to God? Don’t wait another day to find out!
