God’s Little Astronomer: A 5-Day Reading Plan for Kids

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1: When God the Creator spoke

Little astronomer, let’s take a trip to outer space! High above the mountains, clouds, and sky. Out the window, you will see all that God has made!

On a clear night, go outside and look up at the sky. What do you see? Do you see the moon, stars, and possibly some planets? God’s Word, the Bible, says that all of these were created when God spoke! He is the Creator of the universe.

You are standing, at this very moment, in the Milky Way galaxy. Ours is one of the billions of galaxies God made. And He knew YOU would be living in it.

Stand in Awe:

A galaxy is made up of gas, dust, stars, and planets, which are kept together by gravity. Our universe contains more than 100 billion galaxies. Earth is part of the Milky Way galaxy.

Discuss:

What do you love about God’s creation as you look at the sky and all around you?

Pray:

Thank You, God, for creating this universe. Thank You for showing Your love to me by making it a beautiful, special place to live in. Amen.

About this Plan

God’s Little Astronomer: A 5-Day Reading Plan for Kids

Based on Tina Cho’s book, God’s Little Astronomer, this devotional will help families behold the beauty of God’s creation—from the stars and planets to asteroids and meteoroids. Young astronomers will understand that God’s creation reflects His love for them. God’s glory shines throughout the heavens, but His children matter most. Embark on an out-of-this-world journey through outer space and marvel at God’s handiwork and love!
