DAY 7 OF 7

The Miracle Question…

I am amazed at the number of questions I’ve already had to ASK today:

  • Braden, can I borrow your car?
  • Where is the best place to spend a few hours writing?
  • How do I get there?
  • Laurel, how did you sleep last night?
  • What would you like for breakfast?

So many questions, and it’s not even 10 a.m.!

Questions are powerful tools, grounded in the final word for our series: “Ask.”When we think of “asking” God, we often equate the word with asking for something other than, for example, qualities like wisdom and understanding. The prophet Jeremiah reflects God’s heart when he writes in Jeremiah 33, “‘Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’” (Jeremiah 33:3, NIV)

God wants us to ASK, and every single response is a miracle! God longs to respond to our questions, and throughout scripture, He encourages us to ask:

“‘Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.’” (Matthew 7:7, NIV)

“‘Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.’” (Psalm 50:14-15, NKJV)

I’ve been working on a new level of understanding when it comes to asking God specific questions. Each day, I go to God and ask a specific question:

  • Jesus, should I work on my sermon for the weekend or my A Miracle Every Day emails?
  • Jesus, what do You want me to say in the board meeting today?
  • Jesus, is there someone You want me to talk to today? About what?

The more specific I am with my questions, the more Jesus tells me what to do and when to do it! Even better, the more connected I feel to Him in accomplishing His purpose for my life on that day!

When was the last time you went to God with a specific question and waited in His presence for His answer? God wants you to ASK. When was the last time you came to Him in a sincere quest to hear His heart?

Today, I encourage you to do that. Every response from God is truly miraculous! It’s not a miracle that He’s responding; God loves to respond. It’s a miracle that you are welcomed into God’s presence, that His heart is thrilled that you came, and that you can have a conversation with the King of the universe!

You are a miracle!
