God’s Understanding Is Beyond Measure

Psalm 147

The psalm we are reading shows in a wonderful way how comprehensive God is in the life of mankind. It reminds us that God is the one who creates everything that surrounds us, cares, heals, and manages everything. It reminds us that our Lord is great and almighty - there is no measure to his wisdom and understanding. This truth can be so liberating in our lives when we choose to embrace it with our hearts and minds.

Through this psalm, the psalmist invites us to thank God, to sing a song of gratitude, to praise him for all the truths that describe him.

We can apply these truths to our lives, which are filled with good, but also challenging times - obstacles and situations in which we have to make decisions that are often not easy.

These are the moments when the truth of God’s wisdom becomes a reality that we can rely on. God wants to be a part of our challenges, he wants to help us jump over obstacles and make decisions in his wisdom. He invites us to surrender to Him with trust, and rely on His wisdom and understanding, not on our own reasoning. He reminds us, as it is written in the psalm, that he rules over all creation, takes care of all our needs, protects us, and puts our life on the right foundation.

With that thought, let’s remember all those moments when God, in his wisdom and understanding, has been our support, light and strength. Let’s thank and glorify God for all the good he has done in our lives. And let us pray that we can seek and see his wisdom in everything.
