God's Redemption Story (1 Kings - Ezra)Sample

Josiah - 5/5
Josiah’s heart for following God didn’t stop with a little prayer for forgiveness and roast lamb for the Passover meal. He cleaned house. As prophesied in the day of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Josiah killed the priests of the false gods, burned their bones on their altars, and then tore down the altars. Throughout the entire country, he rooted out any people, places, or things that would distract the people of Israel from the one true God.
Sometimes we recognize our sin and ask God to forgive us. We even recommit to doing things God’s way, just like Josiah did. But then we go back to our old habits and are surprised when we swerve off God’s path again. What people, places, things, activities, devices, or entertainments are drawing your attention away from God. If you want to experience change, true renewal in Christ, take a page out of Josiah’s book and remove the distractions so you can focus on God.
