What Jesus Said About the WordSample
The eternal Word of God
First, spend a few minutes and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you through this passage. Ask Him to show you what He wants to reveal to you. The following passages say much more than only that the Word, the Bible, is eternal.
1 Peter 1:22-25 - For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.
Matthew 24:35 - Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.
Revelation 22:19 - I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book… God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.
We have to understand that when we read the Bible, it is not just a few words. We are reading about eternal realities – therefore, we must carefully heed what it says.
Obedience: To whom is the Holy Spirit sending you to share some of these eternal realities?
Do you know someone who needs a Bible? Tell people about the YouVersion app.
YouVersion has a "verse-a-day" setting. It will send you a verse every day. Next time you have coffee with someone, take out your mobile phone and read that day's verse. Ask the person what they think about the verse.
About this Plan
