Jesus Said About How to Be Witnesses

DAY 1 OF 8

Suggestion

1. Ask three friends to do this study with you. (Men and women are in separate groups of 4 each.)

2. Everybody does the study on their own.

3. When all 4 finished the study, meet and discuss what you have discovered.

4. It is of utmost importance to move from information to obedience. Studying the Bible gives information and revelation. Obedience is the practical application. Discuss how to apply what you have discovered.

5. This is study No.2 in the series. Consider doing all 25 studies in this series.

6. Can you think of people who may benefit from these studies? Contact them. Encourage them to gather four people and do this series of Bible Studies.

7. These Bible studies will help you grow as a disciple and a disciple-maker, giving you practical guidelines to lead others to the Lord and make them disciples and disciple-makers.

Jesus said: "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people."

One of every Christian's most powerful resources is to tell people their personal story of salvation. If we do this in the right way, it can be very effective. Most people tend to tell a long story. If we limit our testimony to One Minute, nearly everybody will listen and not be bored or offended. Our testimony often opens the door for further conversations.

The "method" used here is to help people share the gospel effectively and in an easy, comfortable, and enjoyable way. It is easy to learn and to help others to do the same.

It is strongly recommended that you use the basic framework exactly as you find it here. Do it for 6-12 months before making any changes.

This Bible study focuses on two things:

1. Learn how to tell your personal story (My Story) of salvation to people in One Minute.

2. How to share the basic message of the gospel (The Story of Jesus) in Two Minutes.

Five steps to use when sharing your testimony in One Minute. We can also call it "My Story."

Step 1 – How to start a conversation

Starting a spiritual conversation is one of the most challenging things for many Christians. An easy way to start a conversation is to ask someone:

What is the best thing that ever happened to you?

This is a non-threatening and open-ended question. Ask some questions about what they shared and be interested in what they shared. Please treat them with dignity.

After they share their "best thing," you can ask:

May I tell you the best thing that happened to me?
