Strength for They Who Have NoneSample

Strength for They Who Have None

DAY 4 OF 4

This is where we begin to realize that God is serious about helping us complete the task he has given us. The ole excuse that I was hurt, I'm tired, or I don't have the strength, has no value before such a powerful God. This does not diminish what you are going through, it is simply a change in perspective and thought process. No matter how much we want to give up, in Christ we can have the strength to continue to move forward. And the answer is in verse 31.

“Those who wait for the Lord… [these are the ones who will have] new strength, to run and not be weary, to walk and not faint.” Dearest friend, to you who is reading this devotional, I tell you with the respect and honor that you deserve, that if you find yourself fatigued or tired, there is no other reason but that you are not waiting for Jehovah!

It's one thing to wait ON someone, it's quite another to wait FOR someone. On the one hand, you are sitting waiting for the person to do something in order for you to respond. On the other, you are acting proactively in anticipation of such a person's arrival! Where “ON” defines what the person does, “FOR” defines who the person is! In one, you do nothing until God does something, in the other, you are acting by faith, in anticipation of Him being glorified in whatever you do. This is powerful! Why? Because it turns what we have believed upside down!

You are not going to receive strength waiting for him to give it to you. The mandate is to “go” and do the work of the Lord, and as you work for Him, God will multiply your strength. Where He adds to the tired, to the one who does not have any strength left, He multiplies them, because although this person is tired, such a person is not waiting ON Jehovah, but is waiting FOR Jehovah.

The command is as easy as addition and subtraction; don't give up! As children of God, this phrase should not exist in our vocabulary.

Cheer up, my friend, there is a long road ahead of you, and the guarantee that you will reach the end is in your commitment to continuing to march forward despite fatigue or lack of strength.

Remember, we can do ALL things IN Christ! (Phil 4:13)

Be Blessed!
