A daily connection with God centers around...
- Prayer Time
- Bible Reading
- Hearing + Obeying God's Voice
- Maintaining Connection with God Throughout the Day
1. Pray
Set a time of uninterrupted prayer with God, that includes not only speaking to God, but listening for His voice & letting Him speak to you.
Prayer Help:
- Pray for your family (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
- Pray for your friends (1 Timothy 2:1-4
- Pray for your spiritual leaders (pastor, church leaders & etc.) (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
- Pray for your enemies (Matthew 5:44)
- Pray for your labor/work (Colossians 3:23)
- Pray for your city, community & neighborhood (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
- Pray for your earthly leaders (boss, government &, etc.) (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
- Pray for yourself & your personal needs (Jude 1:20)
- Pray for the will of God to be done in your life (James 4:3; Matthew 6:10)
- Pray that the Kingdom of Heaven would be established in the earth (Matthew 6:10)
- Pray for global harvest & Kingdom laborers (Matthew 9:37-38)
- Pray for divine doors of Kingdom opportunity (1 Corinthians 16:9)
- Pray for the Fruit of the Spirit to be evident & active in your life, & church community (Galatians 5:22-23)
- Pray for the Gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Ephesians 4:11-12; Romans 12:6-8)
- Pray for expanded territory (1 Chronicles 4:10)
- Pray against deception (2 Corinthians 10:4-6)
- Pray to put on the Whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)
- Pray in the Spirit (Jude 1:20)
2. Read the Bible
Read today's selected passages of scripture & pay attention to what stands out to you. Allow God to highlight scriptures & themes to you, from the day's reading. God will speak to you through His written Word, The Bible.
Reading Help:
- Highlight what stands out
- Prayerfully re-read the highlighted passages
- Meditate on, and study the highlighted passes for better understanding + insight
- Ask God for revelation, knowledge + spiritual insight
3. Listen + Obey
As God speaks to you, prepare your heart to respond quickly & obediently to His voice. As James says, "be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." (James 1:22)
Response Help:
- Write down what God tells you
- Make intentional adjustments to your life patterns to accommodate obedience to God's voice
- Share what God has asked of you with an accountability/discipleship partner
- Just do it
