Australia is known for its beaches, with beautiful sand and clear water, it’s the perfect place to be on a hot summer’s day! However, they can be dangerous with strong currents you don’t notice, called rips. If you don’t know what to watch out for, you may find yourself in one of these rips, getting carried out to sea. Fortunately, most of the beaches have lifesavers. These people look for where it is safe to swim, and if someone gets stuck in a rip, they are there to save them and pull them from the water. Did you know we all have a lifesaver? God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to rescue us, but like the swimmer, we may not be aware that we need saving!

Even if we are convinced we can do things ourselves and we don’t need a Saviour, the Bible is clear: there is not one person who is without sin; there is only one way to be saved. We can’t go to church often enough, be good enough, or achieve a certain level of good deeds; none of this leads us to salvation. It is only through Jesus that we can have salvation; He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Salvation is accepting Jesus as your Saviour.
