DAY 120 OF 365

Thanksgiving

- Pastor Morena Castro

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name.”— Psalm 103:1 (NIV)

We have a great and wonderful, excellent, and powerful God who showers us with favors and mercies daily. Therefore, we have many great and powerful reasons for being grateful to our good God and heavenly Father, so we must have thanksgiving to our beloved God.

Psalm 103:1, “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name.”

Now, giving thanks to God is the response of a humble heart. It is a heart that does not forget what He has done. It is a heart that recognizes the beautiful blessings that God gives. Gratefulness or saying thanks to others is part of what we should have learned growing up, but giving thanks to God must be a daily devotion. Every child of God must be grateful; we must express gratitude to God with our lips, bless His name, and give thanks.

Make sure that your whole life, your entire being, is a thanksgiving to God. Let us remember that we have many reasons to give thanks. For the family, work, and church, giving thanks is not done only with words but also with actions.

Make a Difference:

Those actions and expressions we give or make when we recognize someone's gesture of kindness towards us make us grateful, which will be a powerful draw to those around us to practice that same attitude of gratitude.

As You Read:

Psalm 103 is part of your reading this week; allow your expressions of gratitude to flow out of you. Take that gratitude and apply it to every aspect of scripture you read.

About this Plan

Make a Difference

We all want to make an impact on the lives of people around us. We want our lives to make a difference in our friends, family, co-workers, neighborhoods, and cities. This is done through the transformative work of Jesus Christ. The Pastors of Peoples Church hope that our weekly devotionals provide insights, reflections, and thought-provoking questions and challenges as we go on this chronological journey through the Bible.
