MORESample
Multiply
Our
Resources
Exponentially
This acronym for MORE depicts the Father's desire to Multiply Our Resources Exponentially, which is beautifully illustrated in the well-known story from John 6. This narrative features a young boy who generously offered his five small fish and two loaves of bread to Jesus. Although Christ could have created a meal miraculously, the act of the boy giving what was his teaches us about the principle that Jesus desires substance to work with.
While five small fish seemed insufficient to feed a large crowd, the story demonstrates that Jesus takes what we release from our hands and multiplies it exponentially. The boy's unselfish act of giving all he had set the stage for an extraordinary display of Christ's power.
Interestingly, the boy is not left unrewarded. In John 6:11 (NIV), it is stated that Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were seated "as much as they wanted." This goes beyond meeting their needs; it reflects a generosity that allows them to take as much as they desire. The phrase "more than enough to go around" captures the abundance created through this multiplication.
Crucially, the multiplication wasn't solely for others; it also extended to the little boy. This principle highlights the profound truth that the seemingly meager resources we hold in our hands when released to God, can transform into an abundant source of blessings, meeting not just the needs but the desires of our hearts.
Reflection: Embracing the Father's desire to multiply our resources exponentially requires a willingness to release what we have. In His hands, our modest offerings can become an overflow of blessings, illustrating a divine principle that transforms scarcity into abundance.
