DAY 13: BEING A WITNESS FOR CHRIST

Read: Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Peter 3:15; Romans 10:14-15; Hebrews 13:20-21; Philippians 1:6; John 14:26

From the moment we call upon the name of Jesus, we immediately become living, breathing miracles, and a testament to the faithfulness of God. We receive firsthand knowledge of God’s grace and, therefore, are equipped to become effective witnesses for the Gospel. We read in 1 Timothy that it is the desire of God that all people would be saved and come to know the knowledge of truth. Since this is the desire of His heart, and He chooses to partner with us for the advancement of the Gospel, a question we must ask ourselves is: how effective are we at being a witness for Jesus?

He has equipped us with everything we need to be effective in our witness, both in word and in deed. The power of our witness is found in the Holy Spirit. This simple truth should free us from feeling as if our lives must be perfect before we can effectively represent Jesus.

Imagine standing before God one day and being asked the question: “What did you do with the grace you received?” The Lord has not set you up to fail. His Word promises that He has begun a good work in us and that He will be faithful to complete it.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the grace that I have received. I pray that You continue to use my life as an example of Your mercy. I boldly pray for opportunities to share my firsthand knowledge of Your saving grace and to be a light in this dark world. Allow your Spirit to work in and through me for Your glory.
