Book By Book 3: Proverbs To LukeSample
Ezekiel is a prophet at the same time as Jeremiah. He is captured when Babylon defeats Judah and is taken to Babylon. His prophecies are for the captives.
Ezekiel sees a vision of God’s glory in heaven. He uses lots of terms that indicate it really is indescribable. God then lets him know he wants Ezekiel to deliver God’s message to the people in captivity.
The vision of God’s glory must have been both overwhelming and reassuring. After having suffered such a defeat, Ezekiel could have been wondering if God really was all that powerful. After seeing this vision, he had to know God was still in charge.
