5 Days to a Value Driven LifeSample
How will this process help me to actively write my legacy?
One of the many benefits of valuing what God values and designing a life around that, is writing a legacy with intention. Legacy writing is simply a culmination of your core values and actions. It is directly affected by the new patterns and habits you are learning to steward right now. Wherever you are, you are touching the lives of those around you. And through those relationships, God wants to use you. He wants to partner with you in how you will impact and influence others. So let me ask – What legacy do you hope to one day leave behind?
You and I are the work of God’s hands—the hands of the finest potter (Lam. 4:2). There will be seasons and situations when you must be tried by the fire. We will all stumble, fall, and at times break. But this life, the challenging relationships, the mess-ups and mistakes, your broken pieces, well, they will never define your value.
What God has in store for you, to put you back together, preciously, precisely, piece by piece, is a gift. Your worth is defined by Him and His workmanship in you, not by your broken parts or past. To think that He could use any material He wanted, but He chooses only the finest gold of love and grace. It is the means by which He will restore you and me to honor and dignity, again and again. We are, after all, His most valued masterpieces (Eph. 2:10 NLT).
Perhaps then, living a life worthy of God’s calling and writing a legacy you can be proud of isn’t just about what you value, but who you value. Loving the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and keeping Him first will allow you the continued pursuit to align a life according to his purposes (Matt 22:37).
