The Huddle by Motivation in MotionSample
Day 2: Choose Your Huddle
Today we'll focus on the power of choice in shaping the people we lead into our lives and allow close. One of the greatest gifts from God is the ability to choose our circle, our huddle.
In our early years, especially when we play sports, we may find ourselves forced into relationships like a huddle. However, as we grow older, we should give careful thought to who we let in and who we surround ourselves with. Consider what your huddle looks like and what you can achieve with those people you call your inner circle.
In my own life, my huddle has evolved over the years. Three core men have remained a crucial part of it, and I'm forever grateful for their presence. We've even created a text chain, a bond of friendship that continues to grow stronger. They are my "mighty men," much like the story of King David, who found protection and support from those who loved him. Do you have people in your life who would go to great lengths to help you, just like David's mighty men?
Allow me to share a football story that illustrates the power of a supportive huddle. I once coached a young player who, for a long time, didn't get the opportunity to play because he wasn't as skilled as some of the other players. However, as injuries mounted, he finally got his chance. What was remarkable was the way his teammates rallied around him, recognizing his limitations and filling in the gaps. They huddled around him, loved him, and made it work. It turned out to be one of the greatest teams I had the privilege of coaching.
Remember that the dynamic group of people you choose to surround yourself with will greatly influence your decisions and, ultimately, your life.
Today you have the choice to decide what your huddle looks like and whether you're in that huddle. Choose wisely, for the people in your huddle will impact your journey in profound ways.
