It's PersonalSample
Have you ever taken a walk or gone for a run and noticed a landmark in the distance, that no matter how much you kept walking or running, never seemed to get any closer? It stayed just out of reach, no matter how far you went.Working for the approval of people can feel just like that—a moving target. We see it as something so close and just out of reach, and do what we can to earn the approval of others, only to find, that once we do what we thought we had to do, the goal changes.
The apostle Paul tells us he isn’t trying to win the approval of man, but of Christ, because he knew, that going after the approval of others will send us in circles, on a scavenger hunt that just never takes us anywhere. But to be a servant of Christ is to know exactly how to live: with the law of love in mind. We don’t have to guess, we don’t have to pretend, we don’t have to aim for a target that never stands still. We can focus on Jesus, lock our eyes on him, and know exactly what to do.
In a world where the approval of people is always changing, shoot for what doesn’t change—the character and goodness of Jesus. Is there an area in your life where you are finding yourself more interested in the approval of man? What would it look like to go after the approval of God?

About this Plan
Everyone is different, yet we all share a common quality. Deep down, we were created to be deeply known by others and by God. We were made to experience relationships with others and a relationship with God that’s personal. Because when it’s personal, it changes things. Things matter more. People matter more. Over the next few weeks, we will discover a personal God and what that means for us.
