Day 19: Interruptible and/or Task-oriented
Jesus was so close with the heart of God that He was able to be interrupted when He was on a mission from God, but He was also able to NOT meet everyone’s immediate and demanding needs. This is a challenging middle ground to exist, to remain responsive to the needs around us, but also to have clear boundaries when we know that we’ve been commissioned to complete a certain task. Jesus knew when he needed to draw away to be with His Father, even when that meant not healing everyone or feeding everyone in the moment, but He also knew when to allow himself to be interrupted and meet a need in the moment.
1) Which of these two parts of Jesus am I more comfortable with? Why?
2) What can I learn about Jesus and put into practice from accepting the part of Jesus that comes less naturally to me?
3) Write a short statement to remind yourself of these multi-faceted truths about Jesus.
a) Mark 5:21-43
b) Luke 5:18-20
c) John 11:1-7

About this Plan
This December, we want to celebrate who JESUS IS. He is much more than we can comprehend; He is so good and multi-faceted! This reading plan will serve as an opportunity to look deeper into the many aspects of Jesus this holiday season. This plan was created by Madeleine Weidemann.
