You Are Not the JudgeSample

You Are Not the Judge

DAY 3 OF 3

Day Three

Only the power of Christ can make people the way they ought to be; you can’t. You have not been called to judge—because you are not The Judge. What you have been called to do is to love God and to love people (see Mark 12:30-31).

So let’s be honest and call your judgment towards others for what it truly is: sin. If you want to focus on anyone’s sin, focus on your own. “How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye” (Luke 6:42).

Extend the love and grace of God towards others—the same love and grace that you want to receive when you stand before God on Judgment Day. You’ll start judging people a lot less when you realize that you’re going to be judged someday by the standard you use to judge others.

Ask God to let you see people through His eyes.

Take your eyes off others, fix your eyes on Jesus, and trust that He knows what He’s doing. God loves you. God has a plan for you. God says your life IS WORTH LIVING. Just trust Him.

Day 2

About this Plan

You Are Not the Judge

When you judge someone, you are separating yourself from them. You’re putting a dividing line between you and the person you are judging. You are categorizing that person because they don’t meet “your standard” of how someone should act, dress, talk, etc. But who made you the Judge? Click "Start Plan" and learn to see others how God sees them!
