I Am a Beloved Daughter of GodSample
God knows and loves me completely!
Psalm 139:1-2, 6, TPT: "Lord, you know everything there is to know about me. You perceive every movement of my heart and soul, and you understand my every thought before it even enters my mind....Your understanding of me brings me wonder and strength."
On the first day of this plan, I highlighted how Jesus masterfully responded to Martha's interruption with love, understanding, and compassion. In saying “Martha, my beloved Martha,” my paraphrase of Jesus’ first words is Martha, I love you!
On this last day of the plan, I choose to focus on Jesus’ question to Martha. In Luke 10:41, TPT, Jesus asked, “Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions?”
In acknowledging Martha as being upset and troubled, Jesus showed He saw and understood what was going on with her. However, He questioned why she was distracted. In my imagination, Jesus looked at Martha as He had looked at the young, rich ruler in Mark 10:21. Looking at her and loving her, He probably gave her the opportunity to reply.
If I were Martha, what would I have said? Seeing the compassion in Jesus’ eyes, I probably would have been speechless. I surely wouldn’t have complained about lack as I stood in the presence of the One Who had miraculously converted water to wine and had amazingly fed thousands of hungry people on a few fish and loaves of bread. Likely, my frustration would have evaporated in the warmth of His acceptance of me.
As Jesus healed, comforted, and set free many during His earthly ministry, He demonstrated “the very character of God” (Hebrews 1:3, NLT). God is love and love never stops loving. God loves us with the same matchless love Jesus extended to Martha.
God loves His children. Every day, God loves us. We are His good idea. God knows and loves us. God loves His daughters.
Congratulations on completing this plan! If you want to further reflect on God’s personal love for you as His daughter, I recommend my book, I Am A Beloved Daughter Of God. Free resources are available in the book's reading sample.
