Giving to God

DAY 3 OF 6

Becoming a Kingdom Financer

In a world driven by materialism, the concept of giving can be misunderstood or undervalued.

However, as followers of Christ, we’re called to view giving as an act of worship and an opportunity to advance God’s Kingdom. Today, let’s explore the blessing and privilege of becoming a Kingdom financer.

1. Recognizing God’s Ownership:

Psalm 24:1 reminds us that God is the Creator and Owner of all. When we grasp this truth, it changes our perspective on giving. We’re not losing, we’re sowing into God’s eternal purposes.

2. Trusting God’s Provision:

In Matthew 6:26, Jesus says, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

Just as God cares for the birds, He also takes care of His faithful children. Giving becomes an act of faith, knowing that God will provide for our needs and use our generosity to bless others.

3. Cultivating a Generous Heart:

Acts 20:3 states, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Giving allows us to break free from the grip of selfishness and opens our hearts to serving others, reflecting the character of our Heavenly Father, who gave His only Son for our salvation.

4. Investing in Eternal Rewards:

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:20, “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Our earthly possessions are temporary, but our investments in God’s Kingdom have everlasting significance.

5. Experiencing God’s Abundant Blessings

As we become Kingdom financiers, we receive God’s blessings. God promises to bless those who give with a cheerful heart. Our generosity opens the floodgates of God’s provisions spiritually, materially, and emotionally. The joy of giving and being used by God to bless others surpasses any material gain.

As we give, remember: our resources are tools for God, who multiplies them beyond measure.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for entrusting us with your resources. Help us recognize that everything comes from you. Teach us to trust in your provision and cultivate a generous heart. May we joyfully invest in your Kingdom, knowing our giving has eternal significance. Bless us abundantly as we bless others, and may your name be glorified through our acts of generosity. In Jesus' name, Amen.
