Finding Financial Peace With GodSample
The Power of Giving in Hard Times
Our finances have the potential to leave a lasting impact. By investing in the lives of others and advancing the Gospel, we transform perishable resources (money) into eternal treasures.
This is the ultimate return on investment—one that bears fruit that lasts.
Scriptural examples abound of God's faithfulness to those who give in hard times. Joseph, a giver who put God first, thrived in famine.
Isaac sowed during a famine and reaped a hundredfold because he followed God’s direction.
Their experiences teach us that, especially in a recession, we should not retract but actually expand our generosity.
In practical terms, facing a recession does not mean cutting back on giving to God’s work; rather, it's a time to assess our personal expenses and align our spending with our stewardship role.
The principle is clear: If God can trust us to be generous conduits of His resources, He will ensure that we have enough to provide for our own needs as well as plenty to give.
Let's pray:
Dear God, in times of scarcity and abundance alike, help me to keep my hands open, to give generously, and to trust in Your multiplying power. Teach me to sow seeds that will bear fruit for Your kingdom, believing in Your promise of a bountiful harvest. Amen.
