Fulfillment: Allowing God to Meet Our NeedsSample

Hunger and Thirst
Have you experienced thirst on a hot summer day or felt hunger pains in your stomach after going without a meal for a long time? Similarly, our spirit informs us when we have gone too long without communion with The Lord and we hunger and thirst for Him. We may feel a sense of longing or separation as our soul yearns for something more significant, often a sign that we need to spend time with God. Through quiet time and prayer, the Holy Spirit can guide us to identify our spiritual needs and how to fulfill them in The Lord.
Today, take a moment to reflect and check in with the Holy Spirit. If you feel distant from God, ask Him to draw you near. Then, take action and seek Him through reading the Bible, listening to a hymn or song, praying more, or attending Church. These are ways to nourish your soul and satisfy your hunger and thirst for God.
Prayer: Jesus, draw us nearer to You. Show us where we allowed routines and responsibilities to fill a space only meant to be Yours. Cleanse our hearts and open our eyes to The Father’s perfect will for us. In Your name, we pray, amen.
