Fishers of PeopleSample
Full Circle
How wonderful it is when we connect the dots and get a sharper picture than when we began.
Initially, Jesus calls four fishermen to follow Him and to become fishers of people. He invites Philip and Matthew to follow Him and extends a promise to Nathanael and other disciples.
They comply and follow Him.
Through a process that lasted a little over three years, almost imperceptibly, Jesus transformed his followers into fishers of people. He fulfills His promise that they will witness great things. They behold the heavens opening, confirming that He is the promised gateway to heaven.
As Jesus bids them farewell, He entrusts his disciples with a mission to fulfill. He reaffirms what He initially told them: He dispatches them into the world to conquer it for Him.
At the end of his earthly ministry, Jesus opens the disciples’ eyes and unveils the extent of the mission to which He has called them. He not only sends them to Jerusalem, the city where they were (and perhaps the scope they had in mind first), but also to the entire province, to the surrounding regions, and even to the ends of the world.
Before departing, Jesus assures the disciples that they will not accomplish this in their own strength, but through the power of the Holy Spirit. He also tells them that He Himself would be with them always.
The invitation Jesus extends to us today remains the same: to spread the message of the gospel to the whole world.
When Jesus called you, He called you to action. He called you to follow Him, to dwell where He dwells, eat where He eats, and journey where He journeys.
He promised to transform you into a soul winner and a disciple-maker.
The Lord has given us His Holy Spirit to do His work with supernatural power, with boldness, healings, signs, and wonders.
Fear not, for He has promised to be with us always.
Lord, we express gratitude for considering us for this monumental task. You don’t just want us to reach our family and neighbors, but people we don’t know in distant lands. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit to perform miracles and healings as we boldly and steadfastly proclaim the gospel so that many may come to know You.

About this Plan
Being a fisher of people is a matter of vision – the vision that God gave us through Jesus Christ. Jesus came, performed His ministry, died, rose, and ascended to heaven. Throughout this wonderful work, the Lord chose people to continue what He began. Today, the Lord is still looking for someone to continue His work. Are you up to the challenge?
