Ditching the Superhero Cape: Embracing God's Grace for DadsSample

Day 3: Wisdom from Above
Scripture: James 3:17
"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." - James 3:17 (ESV)
Devotional: In a world that often celebrates strength, assertiveness, and self-sufficiency, God's wisdom offers a different perspective. James 3:17 reminds us that true wisdom, the wisdom from above, is characterized by purity, peace, gentleness, and mercy. As fathers, this wisdom is our guiding light.
In our journey as dads, we may feel the pressure to be superheroes, always having the answers and being in control. However, God's wisdom teaches us to be peacemakers, gentle in our approach, open to reason, and full of mercy. It encourages us to produce good fruits in our interactions with our families.
Today, let's seek the wisdom that comes from above. Let's humbly lay aside the superhero cape and embrace the wisdom that God provides. Through prayer and reflection, ask God to grant you His wisdom to navigate the challenges of fatherhood with grace and gentleness, mirroring His character.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we come before You seeking the wisdom that comes from above. Help us to let go of the superhero tendencies and instead embrace the wisdom that promotes peace, gentleness, and mercy. Guide us in our roles as fathers, that our actions may reflect Your wisdom and love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
