Demystifying Christmas: An Advent Devotional Study for KidsSample
PROPHECY FULFILLED
Memory Verse
And she gave birth to her firstborn son –
Luke 2:7a
The Roman emperor declared that all citizens must be counted. Joseph and Mary returned to Bethlehem to be counted. While in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus. It had been many years since Isaiah prophesied that a young woman would be pregnant and give birth to a son who would be the savior of the world.
Imagine that your parents made a promise to buy your favorite toy. No dates are given, but a promise made and an assurance from them to keep their word. You wait and wait and even forget about their promise. However, a year after they made that promise, they show up in your room one night with the exact toy they promised you. How will you feel at that moment?
God has many promises in his word. God promised to send a savior to the world a long time ago, and he did not fail to keep his promise. God always keeps his promises no matter how long it takes.
