Five Pillars of Relationship Equity

DAY 2 OF 7

Day 2 Devotional: The Power of Two

Something is intriguing about the "power of two" concept in our society.

It can be seen in various aspects of life, from romantic relationships to business partnerships. When two individuals combine their strengths, they can often achieve more than they could alone. For instance, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak cofounded Apple Inc. in 1976, with Jobs as the visionary and Wozniak as the technical genius behind the company's products. Together, they built a company that revolutionized the technology industry and became one of the most valuable companies in the world. They may only have achieved such great success with each other's unique talents and abilities.

Throughout history, king-led governments will always have a queen, whereas presidents and vice presidents lead our contemporary governments. A governor will typically have a deputy governor, just as a ship captain typically has a co-captain, and a pilot typically has a co-pilot. These demonstrate the importance of striking a balance and taking shared responsibility. When one of the leaders becomes exhausted, the other leader can step up and take charge.

The power of two people, specifically a husband and wife working together, is a tremendous force capable of bringing about incredible results in various facets of life. When two people decide to work together, their capabilities, skills, and strengths can combine to produce a more significant synergy than they could accomplish alone.

Furthermore, the collaboration of the two people also allows for diverse perspectives and ideas to be brought to the table, leading to more creative solutions and better decision-making.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, guide us in harnessing the power of our unity as a couple. Help us appreciate the unique talents and abilities we bring to our relationship. May we become a formidable force for good, achieving remarkable results. In your name we pray. Amen.
