Grandma's WisdomSample
As I have journeyed with the Lord for the last 50 years, God has taught me many things. One of the most important lessons has been to trust Him when He has given me an assignment that seems impossible.
It is easy to trust God when you know you can do whatever He has given you to do. For example, it does not take a lot of faith to help wash dishes after a church potluck; however, if the Lord tells you to stand in front of a group and share the story of how you came to faith in Jesus, you might shrink back. My precious one, please don’t do that. You will miss an adventure with God. Stop! Think about that. God empowers us to have bold faith.
The truth is God never tells us to do anything, (like “go and make disciples”), that He does not also provide the POWER to obey. The question is not whether God will supply what we need, but if we will trust him to do so.
If you and I live our Christian lives inside the “safety zone,” we will miss out on seeing God’s power displayed. Instead, aim for living on the edge. Trusting God needs to be your way of life, even when you are old like me. God is still opening new doors for me that are beyond what I can do in my own strength. He will do the same for you. I have learned to boldly walk through those doors, excited to see how God works in me and through me. The Bible says God uses the weak things of this world to confuse the wise, and I am all about confusing the wise!
God is trustworthy, my dear grandchild in the Lord. Celebrate the open doors that scare you. Say, “Yes!” You will experience the power of God like never before as He puts Himself on display, using you. And there is nothing as exhilarating as seeing God’s POWER in and through you as you live out His PURPOSE for you!
