God's Redemption Story (Exodus - Joshua)Sample

Through nine plagues, the Hebrew slaves watched God punish the Egyptians while Goshen, the area where Israel lived, remained free of pestilence. God was in control, but it must have been scary to watch. “The frogs stayed away, but will that big cloud of gnats on the horizon come over here?”
News of the next plague—the death of every first-born person and animal—likely struck terror in their hearts. But God provided a specific plan to ensure his people would be saved. Did they doubt it? “Just paint the blood on the door, and that’ll be enough?” Did they argue? “Blood on the door is gross!” Did they scoff? “I don’t need sheep blood. I can handle this.”
No, they didn’t do any of those things. Exodus 12:27 tells us they worshipped. And the fact that Jesus gave his blood so that we, too, would be saved from death ought to cause us to do the same. Stop where you are right now and give him your worship.
