3 Steps to a Renewed MindSample

3 Steps to a Renewed Mind

DAY 3 OF 3

Replace

Once the strongholds are torn down and the thoughts are taken captive with prayer, it is time to replace those thoughts with what is true. It doesn’t matter what kinds of thoughts flood your mind. The Word of God can counterattack them and keep them from coming back.

For instance, if you have constant thoughts of death or bad things happening, you can meditate on these scriptures.

“But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3 ESV

“With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.” Psalm 91:16 NASB

“You shall walk in all the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.” Deuteronomy 5:33 NKJV

If you have thoughts of unworthiness…

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 CSB

“You are precious to me, and I have given you a special place of honor. I love you. That’s why I am willing to trade others, to give up whole nations, to save your life.” Isaiah 43:4 ERV

“I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows well.” Psalm 139:14 NKJV

If you have thoughts of anxiousness or fear

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV

“The Lord is my light and salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1 NKJV

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

A renewed mind makes you recognize God’s good and perfect will for your life. So, don’t be surprised if things start to fall into place once strongholds are torn down, thoughts are taken captive, and replaced with what is true.

Notice one of the scriptures says the Lord is a stronghold. Strongholds are not used for evil alone. We tear down evil strongholds and replace them with the defense of Jesus Christ. Once that fortress is built around your mind, nothing can penetrate it.

Find the scripture that speaks to your situation. Meditate on it night and day to replace the high things the enemy tried to exalt above your knowledge of who God is. If you do not replace what’s been uprooted, you leave room for the enemy to plant new intrusive lies in your mind.

We must replace the lie with the truth and create a renewed mind that transforms our lives.

Prayer: Father, thank you for your Word, which is true. Thank you for being my strong tower. I commit to replacing the enemy’s lies with the truth of your Word. I have torn down every evil stronghold in my mind and erected the fortress of your truth to replace it. I now walk with the peace of God over my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
