Business & Proverbs: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Business LeadersSample

We all know that running a business—or even just being part of one—can be like navigating a maze. There are decisions to make at every turn, and not all choices are black and white. That's where wisdom comes in.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:16, "How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver."
I am a financial coach, so I'm not at all saying we should ignore the financial aspects of business—far from it. But we have all seen the kinds of foolish and destructive things some have done when chasing wealth above wisdom. Right?
So, the takeaway from this proverb is that wisdom and understanding should be the things we should treasure and chase after.
Another gem from Proverbs that I absolutely love is Proverbs 24:3-4: "By wisdom, a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches."
If you are anything like me, you want to build a business that stands the test of time. A business built on wisdom is like a house built on a rock—it's stable, secure, and provides shelter during life's storms.
So, whether you're a CEO, a manager, or an employee striving to climb the corporate ladder, remember this: wisdom is the principal thing. It's the cornerstone that holds everything else together.
And the best part? Like we saw yesterday, God promises in James 1:5 to give it to us in abundance when we simply ask!
So today, let’s take a moment and ask God for wisdom specifically for that most pressing need in your business.
