Your life is not an accident. You didn’t come about because of atoms randomly colliding together. You were lovingly made as an artist creates a masterpiece.

Psalm 139:13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

You have value because Jesus says you have value. You were created with love and care. Your looks, abilities, personality - every part of you. Your life was never an accident. You were planned from before the world began. And you weren’t made to just float through life! There are good works that Jesus created you to do!

And you might say but Craig, what are those? I don’t know what Jesus has asked me to do. And it’s actually very simple. Just one thing and everything else is a tool to help that one purpose to come about.

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. Matthew 28:18-20

In this passage, Jesus gives a clear directive for Christians to actively engage in spreading his teachings, making new disciples, and assisting others in their journey of faith. But Craig, that seems a little too simple? That’s the point! Living God's purpose for your life is not complicated, we just often struggle to do it!

Friends, that is our purpose. It is the most important purpose we could ever have. It is about eternal destinies.

All our other gifts and abilities are tools to see that come about. Our businesses can point people to Christ and we can use our resources as massive opportunities to extend God's Kingdom. Our families and the way we raise our kids can show a new way to live. Our achievements can point people to Jesus if we are prepared to share that He is central to it all. Jesus doesn’t want us to stop what we are passionate about and what we are good at. Not at all. He created us with those gifts. But the purpose of those gifts and opportunities is to help people follow Jesus.

But Craig, all I am good at is employing people and making money. Amazing! Shine God's light and invest in His Kingdom. Don’t leave your storehouse full on earth when you die, put your resources to work for a Kingdom that will never fade!

Our lives are anything but ordinary!

God has uniquely placed us in this time in history. We are a vital strand in God’s great tapestry. We are a puzzle piece that is essential for others to enjoy the beautiful picture of God’s Kingdom. It’s all hands on deck to see people experience Jesus and many disciples made. Don’t waste a moment living for what doesn’t matter!

Action Point: Ask God to show you how to use your gifts and circumstances to extend His Kingdom during your life on earth.
