A Guide for Following JesusSample

“I love you.”

Three of the most powerful words that could ever be said are: I love you.

It’s what all of us most long to know and believe — that there is someone who sees us, knows us, chooses us, and even still, loves us. That’s exactly how God – who created the entire universe – feels about you. He loves you. He longs for a relationship with you, simply because He loves you.

Jesus loves you with a perfect love. It’s hard to comprehend because even humans who love us deeply can never love us perfectly. But Jesus loves you completely, wholly, and perfectly. Even your sin didn’t keep Jesus from loving you. In fact, He loves you so much that He took your place and died for you. It was the most outrageous act of love to ever be shown. And this act was shown for you.

Imagine someone doing something horrible to you. But then an opportunity arises, and you choose to take their place of punishment. Instead of them getting what they deserve, you take the punishment for them. It’s incomprehensible to us: that person wouldn’t deserve such kindness or mercy. And yet this is exactly what Jesus did for you.

The only way this kind of sacrifice could take place is through perfect love. That’s exactly what Jesus has for you.

You are loved by God — and there is nothing that could ever remove or take away the love He has for you.

Prayer: Good good Father, thank You for Your love. Thank You that it's unending and unconditional. Even when I fail You, You love me all the same. Thank You for a love that never gives up on me.
