DAY 5 OF 28

Do you ever wish you had a few more hours in your day? If you did, you might be able to squeeze in some extra homework or get a couple more hours of practice before your recital or game. For a lot of us, when we realize we're short on time, the ways we spend time with God can be pushed aside to make sure we get to other things first — but it doesn't have to be this way.

During one of Jesus' most famous teachings, he taught his disciples to seek out God's kingdom first. No matter what was happening in their lives, one of their top priorities was to focus on building their relationship with God. So how do we learn to focus on God even when we're busy?

The rhythms we set get to be completely unique to our lives and schedules. If you've got a lot of stuff happening in the early morning, you can spend time with God in the evening. If your only free time is on the weekend, then you can adjust your rhythms to spend time with God then. There's no one right way or time to connect with God, and you're free to adjust your rhythms as your schedule changes. What's most important is making space in your life to stay connected to what God is doing and teaching you. When life feels busy, you can still choose to seek God's kingdom first by building habits that work with your schedule.

About this Plan

Rhythm

For the next four weeks, we'll take some time to explore how we can build rhythms that help us connect with God in new ways. We'll discover how to build a strong rhythm that can sustain us through whatever life brings our way. We'll look at how to create rhythms that help us spend time with God, use our gifts, share our stories, and spend time with others.
