Because of Jesus I Am...Sample
Zero, Zip, Zilch, Nada
Verse - “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 8:1)
Think - Deep in our hearts, we often carry the weight of guilt, condemnation, and shame. Regrets from the past haunt us, whispering that we are unworthy, unforgivable, bound, and named by the mistakes we have made. Yet, because of Jesus, amidst the darkness, hope shines through the words and truth of Romans 8:1 - announcing that in Christ Jesus, there is no condemnation. Zero, zip, zilch, nada.
Take a moment and let the magnitude of that truth sink in - deep. As a follower of Jesus, someone who has transferred trust to Jesus and nothing else, we are set free from the chains of guilt, condemnation, and shame. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and our acceptance of who He is paid the price for our sins, once and for all. We are no longer defined by our past sins and failures or held captive by guilt and shame.
This freedom from condemnation, now and forever, is not earned or deserved - it is a free gift given by the grace of God. The verdict of guilty, condemned, and having constant shame is replaced with the righteousness of Jesus Himself. We are declared innocent and wholly righteous. Listen to the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 5 - “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (verse 21). We gain His righteousness because He took on our sin — an incredible exchange.
Apply - So, today, let us embrace this incredible truth. Let go of the heavy burden of condemnation that weighs upon your heart. Release the chains that hold you back from fully experiencing the abundant life God has prepared for you. Accept the forgiveness offered by Jesus and step into the freedom He provides. Your life is hidden in Christ and His life in yours. God’s love is greater than any sin or failure you have ever committed. His grace is sufficient and more powerful than the condemnation of the world, the devil, or even your own conscience. You are a beloved child of God, redeemed and set free because of Jesus.
Pray - Father, because of your son Jesus, I accept the gift of freedom He bought for me on the cross. I am forever thankful that in Him, I no longer stand condemned. Help me to grasp the depth of your love and grace - today, tomorrow, and every tomorrow after that. Amen.
