Living with Wisdom
"These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God". Titus 2:3-4 NLT
What does it mean to live wisely?
My simple way of understanding this is learning to be in tune and partner with the Holy Spirit. And to break that down even more tangibly, let’s take a look at these scriptures:
·“For the Lord grants wisdom! From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6 (NLT)
·“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” James 1:5 (NLT)
From this, we know that God is the author of wisdom. He gives it freely and generously to all who ask Him. So, dear sister, ask for wisdom, and you will receive it. Seek and search God’s Word for answers and guidance. Most importantly, partner with the Holy Spirit in all dimensions of your daily life—Knock at His door, and He will lead you in the way you should go.
Practical ways to initiate this in your life:
1. Ask the Holy Spirit how your family’s budget should look. How should you be spending or saving your money? Read the Word and learn to embrace biblical financial habits.
2. Ask the Holy Spirit how to run your house so your house doesn't end up running you. For me, I think of practical steps of organizing and creating routines and rhythms to make my home more efficient and eliminate chaos. This will usher in peace, and I know you can all agree that a peace-filled home is a happy home.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for freely and richly giving wisdom to all who ask. So, here I am today, asking you to shower me with Your wisdom. By Your Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, and actions to align with Your Will. Thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
