Time With God in the Car Line

DAY 4 OF 5

Fear of the Cone

Where I live, the orange cone is infamous. If you arrive one minute after the warning bell rings, it appears. No car can pass. Your child cannot walk in unattended. You must get out of the car and sign them in. Of course, this always happens when you don’t have an appointment to attend or work to complete in person, so getting ready is not part of your morning. I always feared this cone, but somehow, I made it without ever facing the doom it gave to anyone daring to challenge it.

Being late for drop-off is a legitimate fear. Who wants to be seen with holes in their pajamas, no makeup, lack of support, or morning breath unhinged?

What do you do when trouble drops right in your path, bringing you to a halt?

God wants us to turn to Him in difficult times. By being present, this means He is right there. Not only is He right there, but He’s always there. The Lord’s help is a permanent fixture, and His presence will be constant with no ebb or flow.

The refuge He freely gives allows us to discover deliverance only He can provide in a troublesome situation.

The orange cone of life may be an unwelcoming interruption for you in this season, but allow it to pivot you into the arms of your Defender.

Pray

Dear Lord, thank You for always being there. Knowing I can come to You with the good, the bad, and the ugly, and You will give my soul respite. Amen.
